Field Sales Representative - Southwest

Courier Corporation is a U.S.-based book manufacturer and book publisher with 10 operating locations. Its publishing division consists of three speciality publishers: Dover Publications, Creative Homeowner, and Research and Educations Association. Together these publishing units make up Courier Publishing Inc., a susbidiary of Courier Corporation, with over 10,000 titles in print.

Courier Publishing Inc. is growing its field sales force across the United States. We are currently recruiting for field Sales Representatives in the following territories: Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming), Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado), Mid-Atlantic (Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC), and Greater New York City (New York City, Long Island, Westchester County).

Courier Publishing Sales Representatives are responsible for selling books and related materials by contacting established customers and developing new prospects. Our Sales Representatives represents the organization with respect to promotion, sales, and service of all of our Publishing product lines to a variety of customers within a defined territory. Job Requirements

·  generating sales volume equal to or higher than budgeted target

·  closing sales

·  representing Courier Publishing to potential and existing customers with respect to promotion, sales and service of all product lines

·  managing assigned key accounts by communicating with customers to share new product information and review sales figures

·  prospecting new accounts

·  qualifying leads

·  presenting features and benefits of products

·  representing Courier Publishing at trade showsCandidate Requirements

·  strong, demonstrated skills in cultivating client relations

·  an organized methodical approach in a sales process

·  ability to work independently and with others

·  2 to 3 years of successful sales experience preferably in gift sales market, retail/university bookstore, or general retail territory management

·  excellent negotiation and communication skills

·  a self-starter working independently without supervision

·  customer-service oriented

·  strong analytical and quantitative abilities

·  PC skills

·  ability to travel up to 80% on a regular basis including weekends if necessary
