NewPage owns paper mills located in Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nova Scotia and Wisconsin. These mills have a total annual production capacity of approximately 5.5 million short tons of paper, including approximately 4.3 million short tons of coated paper, approximately 920,000 short tons of uncoated paper and approximately 300,000 short tons of specialty paper, as well as approximately 3.2 million short tons of pulp.

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to coordinate financial reporting and analysis among NewPage manufacturing locations.  Responsibilities will include analysis of Productivity projects, Inflation, production to cost trends, standardization of processes, mill forecast analysis, and ad hoc analysis of our operational results.  The position will interface with all levels of Mill finance as well as Miamisburg Finance and the VP–Operations on a regular basis.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide operational and financial information (analysis) to guide NewPage management in effective decision making

·  Assist in the yearly planning and budgeting process related to operations, set processes, coordinate templates, and ensure commonality across all four coated mills.

·  Synchronize reporting on monthly operations performance versus forecast and plan.  Work with the Mills to develop monthly forecast for operations.

·  Coordinate Inflation and Productivity tracking/reporting across the operations.  Understand/challenge mills assumptions and metrics. 

·  Assist with supply/demand balancing analytics utilizing Solver (Network Production Planning Tool).  Translate the results of Solver to NewPage level P&L

·  Automate and coordinate the reporting of data for manufacturing KPI’s

·  Analyze processes between locations to identify “Best Practices” and drive implementation of Best Practices

·  Analyze results between locations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency

 

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Accounting/Finance CPA/MBA a plus.  5-10 years experience, mill experience a plus

 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

·  Comprehensive knowledge of Manufacturing Accounting and the relationship between manufacturing data and NewPage level P&L; strong analytical skills

·  SAP

·  Cost Accounting

·  Strong MS Suite skills

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Less than 25%
