Graphic Artist Supervisor

We currently have an opening for a Graphic Artist Team Supervisor. This position is more management than creative. Our ideal candidate must have experience and skill using Photoshop and Illustrator along with management experience.

 

Job Duties

Position Summary: 

Directly manage staff, workflow, and daily tactical operations for designated function.  Includes payroll, interviewing, hiring, and mentoring staff to ensure productivity goals are met.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

1.  Manage incoming and outgoing work daily.

2.  Accountable for the quality of work within the team.

3.  Communicate with Department Managers and customers regarding turn time of work and special projects.

4.  Identify and correct problem areas within the team before they impact other departments or the site as they arise.

5.  Create, implement, and maintain department procedures in conjunction with other sites and the Business Development Support Group. 

6.  Prepare department for internal and external audits as they occur.

7.  Participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with Manager.

8.  Facilitate monthly team meetings and team member one-on-one meetings.

9.  Provide software and hardware recommendations as needed.

10.  Serve as primary link between the team and Pindar Management.

11.  Work with Management to ensure departmental and site objectives are maintained.

12.  Interview, hire and train for all positions within department.

13.  Supervise performance and continual development of team members.  Record a summary of this through the annual appraisals.

14.  Communicate performance measures with team and action accordingly.

15.  Respond timely to any issues that involve policy decisions and/or disciplinary action.  Work closely with Human Resources on developing and delivering any necessary documentation on same.

16.  Monitor team usage of Paid Time Off (PTO) so that it is not disruptive to production.

 

Job Requirements

Education:

·  Four (4) year college degree or equivalent

 

Work Experience:

·  2-4 years management experience preferred

 

Computer/Technical Skills:

·  Basic Microsoft Word

·  Basic Microsoft Excel 

·  Adobe Photoshop

·  Adobe Illustrator

 

Soft Skills

· Basic written and verbal communication skills

· Detail Accuracy required

· Ability to plan, organize, implement, identify problems and resolutions, evaluate work performed by self in a complex and dynamic work environment.

· Coach and give feedback to individuals within team that is consistent with team goals

 

People Management Requirements:

· Ability to act as a leader within a team and motivate individuals to meet requirements, i.e.:  deadlines, productivity goals, etc.
