The Pearson Operations HR Team is seeking an exceptional, highly motivated, and detail oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Old Tappan, NJ. This is an exciting entry level opportunity.Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:- providing confidential, administrative support for HR department, including file maintenance, data entry, and reporting;- assisting with external and internal recruiting efforts including but not limited to greeting and assisting applicants/new hires, applicant flow reporting, screening and background checks, correspondence, and scheduling new hires for orientation;- addressing payroll issues for employees, including communicating with payroll colleagues to resolve pay issues;- participating in employee activities committees; - providing general information to all employees regarding HR policies and procedures; - administration of employee referral program and various site specific employee programs;- other projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field preferred but not required.- 6 months - 1 year experience in a corporate environment. Internship experience a plus.- Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.- Must be able to handle confidential information in an appropriate and professional manner.- Strong computer skills a must. Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. MS Access a plus.- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.- Organizational skills.- Ability to work independently. - Ability to work well within and across teams.- Time management skills.- Able to deal with deadlines and pressure effectively.NOTICE TO VENDORS:Pearson is not seeking assistance or accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms for this employment opportunity.
