Human Resource Manager

El Diario, the #1 Hispanic daily in New York and the country’s oldest Spanish-language newspaper, is looking for an experienced HR Manager to perform generalist human resource functions and assume responsibilities for the following HR core areas: employment policy and practices; employment law compliance; employee relations; recruitment; benefits management; union relations; training and development; compensation; safety and workers’ compensation and records management. 

 

Working with El Diario’s senior management and ImpreMedia’s corporate HR staff, will plan, organize and manage all activities of El Diario’s HR department, including development of department objectives and processes. The HR Manager is a member of El Diario’s executive committee and ImpreMedia’s corporate HR team.

 

Requirements

 

· Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree and 2 to 5 years of HR management experience or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Must have the ability to effectively resolve problems or issues using judgment that is consistent with company standards, policies, practices, procedures, and regulation or law.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts and agreements, professional journals, and governmental regulations.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Effective PC skills including Microsoft spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications.

· Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills.

· Fully bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

· PHR or SPHR certification desirable.
