Maintenance Supervisor

Courier Westford, a subsidiary of Courier Corporation, the nation’s third largest book manufacturer is actively seeking a Maintenance Supervisor.  We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to assist the Maintenance Manager with the day-to-day operations and smooth running of the maintenance department and to ensure quality service and timeliness of work performed by the maintenance staff.

 

Responsibilities and duties will include:

· Perform mechanical, electrical and building maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical/ electrical systems on production equipment and throughout facility.

· Assist outside contractors and engineering with projects, which may include production equipment installations.

· Contact vendors for parts request and price quotes.

· Address work orders both emergency orders and those done according to equipment schedules and track and address outstanding work orders.  Communicate with Maintenance Manager on a daily basis on the status of work orders.

· Assign work detail to maintenance personnel and coordinate with Maintenance manager on day-to-day maintenance issues.

· Assist lesser skilled maintenance mechanics on repairs, which will include developing the skills of those employees.

· Discuss with Manager through observance employees who need further training to improve performance or expand job knowledge and skills and a assist Manager in finding training or providing training for employees.

· Coordinate preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure work scheduled is performed parts needed are on hand prior to PM.

· Provide work performance feedback to Maintenance Manager on Maintenance Staff for appraisal process.

· Track and provide training of maintenance employees in all OSHA and company required procedures.

· Acting Manager when Maintenance Manager is on vacation, or traveling for business.

· Participate as a Fire and Evacuation Team Member.

 

5–10 years of maintenance mechanic and electrical experience in the printing and bindery industry along with 2-3 years of supervisory experience is required.  Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is necessary.

 

Candidates must be quality minded, self-motivated, a team player, have the desire to work in a fast paced environment and move up in the organization.  Candidates must also be willing to cross train and work overtime when necessary.
