Job Description:
This role is within the Corporate Controller’s group. While principally responsible for the preparation of various sections of the Company’s SEC filings (all 10-Ks and 10-Qs), this individual is also responsible for: reviewing new accounting standards, assessing the impact on RDA, and successfully devising an implementation plan (if applicable); reviewing RDA transactions (confirmation of existing transactions and developing positions on new transactions) to ensure they're accounted for appropriately; and the establishment and maintenance of global accounting policies.
As a result, this position involves a great deal of interaction with the business units’ operational and finance leaders as well as various members of senior management.
This position will frequently work directly with the Company’s Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer on special projects related to operating, accounting and auditing, financing and potential acquisitions as they arise.
On a global basis, this position will also be a lead in the monitoring and maintenance of the Company’s compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and execute process enhancements over the Company’s Sarbanes Oxley compliance methodology Coordinate and support implementation of the Company’s Sarbanes Oxley framework and methodology to local business units Leverage supporting tools (e.g. Oracle Internal Controls Manager, LogicalApps) utilized in managements’ internal control evaluations. Conduct Sarbanes Oxley related training to local management Ensure the timely resolution of internal control matters raised by internal and external audits. Summarize and report compliance results to senior management. Lastly, this individual will liaise with the external auditors regarding reporting, accounting and Sarbanes Oxley issues and work with outside valuation consultants, as required, to assess intangible assets for impairment (including completing internal valuations).
QualificationsBachelor’s degree and CPA required; MBA a plus. 4-6 years of experience in public accounting required, including experience with SEC reporting matters related to publicly-held multinational publishing companies. The candidate must possess superior technical, analytical and interpersonal skills. A mixture of Big 4 and private publishing industry experience is a plus, but not required.
