Online Sales Manager

GateHouse Media New England is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Online Sales Manager to join a growing interactive operation consisting of over 160 websites in Massachusetts.  This person will be responsible for growing overall online advertising revenues and managing the sales process for the online sales team which includes direct selling responsibilities to top customers and agencies. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for achieving and exceeding month, quarterly and annual online revenue targets across all online categories (display, real estate, employment, and automotive).Manage and train growing online team of account executives.Improve online sales tracking and reporting for interactive sales team.Lead regular training programs with sales teams providing expert knowledge about all interactive products and the overall sales approach.Work closely with the print sales department providing training and development of multi-media sales products.Create tailored presentations, proposals and collateral for the organization, clients and agencies.Assist with the ongoing development of interactive products, pricing and strategies.Increase awareness of GateHouse Media New England's interactive products with digital agencies.

 Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years online advertising sales experience with at least three years of management experience:Extensive sales management experience.Proven track record of sales success and experience within the interactive/online advertising space. The ideal candidate will be able to act as the online sales expert and liaison with other departments within the company.Experience working with and/or selling to small and large/national businesses including agencies.Great people skills. The ability to inspire, build and lead existing online sales team. Entrepreneurial instincts and a willingness to develop untested sales products and strategies.The desire and ability to be largely self-directed.A deep appreciation for the value of metrics in managing a sales force and managing a business.Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.Proficient in MS Office applications.

Education:

BA/BS degree required.
