Online Graphic/Multimedia Designer

Rodale Inc. is currently seeking a Designer for the Online Direct Response group. This individual will be responsible for creating compelling, original, sales-driven online promotional materials.

This individual will need to be able to translate business requirements, user needs and technical capabilities into designs that are visually exciting and easy to use. Expected to participate actively in a culture of innovation and teamwork. Designers should have excellent conceptual skills, as well as effective interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, project managers, designers and developers.

Responsibilities include:

·  Design websites, html emails, banners, rich media interactive pieces, and other online promotions.

·  Take projects from inception to completion, with a very strong attention to detail and quality.

·  Interpret design direction and implement it on the project level.

·  Work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

·  Have the ability to work under tight deadlines, pressure, and on multiple projects at once.

·  Work with creative team to archive client projects to produce and file digital assets/organize accordingly.

Ideal candidate will possess:

·  A minimum of 2 years professional digital design experience with a focus on branding and developing interactive media.

·  Be a proactive, self-starter with a demonstrated passion for marketing/advertising design on a personal and professional level.

·  Proficiency with Adobe programs (Photoshop, ImageReady, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator), Notepad, or other HTML editor program.

·  Education: B.A., or equivalent experience.

·  Strong visual style and thorough understanding of how typography, layout, color, images, and interactivity impact design.

·  Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, verbal, and written skills.

·  Bonus: Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of Web technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, Action Script, PHP, and AJAX. Video Editing Skills a PLUS.
