Prepress Operator

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Preflight client files and identify issues requiring correction prior to starting the production process.Prepare files for offset and digital print production.Create proofs from supplied files for client approval.Ability to layout and impose jobs accurately for production.Generate printing plates as needed to maintain production schedules.Maintain a safe work environment and follow the company’s safety policies and rules.Perform other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION & OTHER INFORMATION: Minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience in a digital production environment.Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.Must have an understanding of the overall printing and bindery production process and a working knowledge of the prepress functions.Working knowledge and current experience with standard graphics arts software.Working knowledge of Creo Systems and CTP.Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients in a professional manner.Must be able to work in a fast pace environment and adapt to changes, working well under pressure of client and production deadlines.
