The project editor supervises full production (uncopyedited manuscript through final PDF files) of professional/computer-related book projects under the direction of the managing editor; acts as the primary production resource for authors, copy editors, text designers, compositors, proofreaders, and indexers; creates and monitors budgets and schedules; traffics all project-related materials through each production phase; and assures production quality of each project. Required Experience: Thorough knowledge of book production; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail; and knowledge of copyediting, proofreading, and indexing. Knowledge of Word, QuarkXpress, FrameMaker, Excel, FileMaker, and basic HTML a plus.
