Working in partnership with the global science and health communities, Elsevier's 7,000 employees in over 70 offices worldwide publish more than 2,000 journals and 1,900 new books per year, in addition to offering a suite of innovative electronic products, such as ScienceDirect, MD Consult, Scopus, bibliographic databases, and online reference works.Responsibilities Manage educational programs that are developed and run by Skin Disease Education Foundation (SDEF) and other meetings for International medical News Group (IMNG) and Elsevier Oncology. Manage faculty process from invitation through syllabus submission. Interact with accredited CME provider. Develop copy for marketing materials for SDEF meetings and conferences and work with outside vendors and internal partners and general administrative support. Travel and onsite management of SDEF meetings required. All meetings are on weekends and attendance will be part of the position.Qualifications Experience with CME guidelines as they relate to live events and print. Excellent communication skills required for marketing materials development. Good organizational ability. Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities at any given time. Ability to maintain solid interpersonal relationships with staff in Morristown, Rockville, other Elsevier staff as needed, and freelance vendors. Ability to work independently and take initiative on tasks. Experience with CME meetings management, graphics packages, and print production processes a plus. Strong knowledge of PC-based applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Travel to medical education events as assigned will be required. Some weekend travel will be required due to nature of business. College degree required (Science, English, or Communications degree). Communications and CME background required, science/editorial preferred. Must be able to write promotional materials for CME meetings and have logistical meeting planning experience. Good verbal and proofreading skills are essential. Previous experience in a medical education company is strongly preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare communications company or advertising agency will also be considered.
