Job Title:  Proofer

Reports to: Pre-Press Manager

Department: Plate Room

 

 

Summary: Responsible for proof-reading game information for correctness. This includes, but is not limited too, contract proofs, blueline proofs, color comps, clean backs, WPs and all pertinent PECs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

* Proof-read and inspect supplied proofs (contract, blueline, color comps, clean backs) against working papers and any pertinent PECs;

* Verify information in ticket barcode (printed UPS, not imaged) using a barcode reader.

* Process and package agent samples;

* Communicate quality concerns to Prepress department and other relevant employees such as Account Executive;

* Knowledge of Working Papers;

* Follow ISO 9002 procedures;

* Fill out required checklists;

* Monitor press schedule daily and adjust priorities as necessary;

* Basic computer skills;

* All other duties of assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

 

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   

 

Language Skills:  

 

* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  

 

Reasoning Ability:  

 

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 

* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
