Regional Curriculum Sales Manager

Family-owned industry leader Carolina Biological Supply Company in Burlington, NC, is dedicated to providing the highest quality science and math educational materials to educators worldwide.

Currently, we are seeking an experienced sales person who knows how to close the deal to cover the Eastern Great Lakes region, which includes Western Pennsylvania and upstate New York. The ideal candidate will be located near Pittsburgh or Buffalo.

In this position, you'll be responsible for:

-Building effective relationships with school accounts

-Identifying state and local adoption opportunities for our hands-on science curriculum products (Science and Technology for Children ® and Science and Technology Concepts for Middle Schools), which were developed for students in grades K-8; and our math curriculum (Math Out of the Box™), which was developed for students in grades K-5

-Coordinating activities with product managers

-Working with inside sales staff and curriculum consultants

-Preparing sales reports, assisting with forecasts and budgets and managing expenses

-Attending trade shows, adoptions meetings and bid openings.

-Requires extensive travel

To qualify, we require:

-Bachelor's degree in education (preferably science or math), sales or business/marketing

-Valid driver's license

-Strong general business, analytical, presentation, problem-solving and interpersonal skills

-A proven track record in outside sales with demonstrated success in developing new accounts

-Membership in an education-related organization or planning board a plus

-2-3 years' publishing sales experience or experience in educational sales is preferred

-3-5 years' teaching experience, preferably in science, will be considered in lieu of sales experience
