Research Engineer

Designs and carries out research to discover and create new technologies, materials related to inkjet printhead operation. Through investigation or experimentation, examines, evaluates, and tests discoveries. Proves, applies and interprets scientific or engineering laws and theories. Identifies application of research for technologies or products and develops new solutions for the organization and its customers. Creates prototypes to demonstrate results. Presents results of research to appropriate scientific and business audiences, and may participate in commercialization of results.

Job Duties:

This position is for an engineer in the field of electronic thin film materials and process development/integration.  Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Material Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.  A strong understanding of microelectronics, semiconductor processes and electronic materials is necessary.  Semiconductor foundry experience is a plus.  An understanding of inkjet technology and heater chip design is a plus.  A higher degree or dual degree is preferred.

Position will require the candidate to drive new technologies to a Readiness state and integrate semiconductor material sets and processes into an ink jet heater chip.  Candidate will interact on a daily basis with technical vendors.

This position is advertised at an intermediate level, but may be filled at an entry level or a career level, based on a candidate's education and experience.
