Position Title: Sr. Applications Specialist
Location: New York, Pleasantville
Job Description:
Provide Applications Support for RDA Royalties Accounting Users of the Alliant Royalties software package.
Primary Responsibilities include;both functional and technical support such as administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and deployment to new businesses or countries. User community is global and this position involves shifting work hours earlier rather than later in the day to better support Europe. Work closely alongside the business to recommend best practices and procedures. Also create documentation to support these. Use/Learn Oracle Discoverer and SQL tools to support reconciliation and reporting requirements. Test upgrades and patch applications applied by or with assistance of the software vendor, REAL Software Systems. Work with other RDA IT groups, such as database administrators, to coordinate backups, refreshes, job scheduling, etc. Communicate with Vendor support for issue resolution and to better understand Alliant application functionality. Work on additional projects / initiatives as they arise.
Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science major or related field. Knowledge of MS Office. Oracle Discoverer and SQL a plus. Experience supporting or deploying Software Applications. Familiarity with Accounting or Finance concepts a plus. Self directing, motivated and capable of owning issues from start to completion. Organized, able to manage priorities for own tasks, able to manage multiple concurrent tasks. Strong customer focus. Vision to see the wider consequences behind any requested system change or problem. Logical, analytical, organized and structured, thinker. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Enjoy working as business partner and part of a wider team. Experience of working in a global virtual team a plus. Works well under time pressure. Confident when handling users. Diligent and maintains focus on getting a job done in spite of distractions. "Can do" attitude. Flexible for travel purposes and willing to work late if required.
