Position Title: Senior Demand Planner

Job Description:
QSP is the Division of Reader’s Digest driving a dual bottom line – making money for a commercial organization and making money for an important social institution (primarily schools). By managing lean supply chain operations for an assortment of products, QSP enables schools and other fundraising organizations to sell products to raise money.
Broad function and scope of the position: Provides leadership in the analysis, communication, data integrity, measurement, forecasting systems leverage, and collaborative processes for demand planning for the food category of QSP.
Principal Accountabilities:Manages the collaborative S&OP team process ( 4 steps: forecasting consensus meeting, supply response, gap analysis, and senior management review) to produce a food category forecast that drives Operations. Performs the development of an historical SKU forecast as initial input for the S&OP first meeting for all food products. Communicates official S&OP forecast to supply planning group in a timely manner Monitors orders for actual demand and issues timely (at least weekly) updates to supply planning group. Ensures the integrity of the volume plan with the financial forecast, and communicates plan with opportunity and risk to the supply planning group. Ongoing analysis and measurement of forecast effectiveness (MAPE at category and item level). Monitors active and responsible dialogue with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Planning to improve forecast plan Recommends SKUs for rationalization Manages disposition of excess inventory Provides historical geographic and flavor/variation splits on volume to supply planning and distribution partners for capacity analysis Provides multi-year analysis of order and shipment trends in volume Participates in development of item level safety stock calculations based on demand variation.
Qualifications:Experience in a leadership role in S&OP process Experience developing a forecast manually, as well as with some forecast system Comfort with statistics and able to translate knowledge into broader, practical business terms Understanding of the impact of forecast on downstream supply chain processes, especially inventory Strong analytical skills; detail oriented
