Shipping/ Case Supervisor - PA (2nd Shift & 3rd Shift)

Job Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the LSI Shipping department and the LSI Case department. Including supervision of personnel for compliance with company policies and procedures. Ensures that all department goals are met, communicates production standards to associates, identifies productivity and quality issues and recommends solutions to department manager. Monitors that all priority jobs are completed prior to the target completion times. Informs Operation Manager of all issues that may impact the ability of the shifts and or departments to provide effective and efficient service levels.

 

Essential Job Duties:

1.  Responsible for the daily supervision of associates including proper record keeping, time and attendance monitoring and approval, performance evaluations, and recommendations regarding associate advancement and /or disciplinary procedures. Supervises the departments insuring the timely and accurate movement of the product in and out of the facility.  Supervises workflow, assigns work and performs department tasks as necessary.

2. As required, performs any and all job duties required of a Shipping Lead or Case Lead.  Ensures that all orders are shipping by the target date. Responsible for all shipping systems and the daily “closed out” procedures for all packages. Verifies that carriers pick up all packages and that dock area is secured at end of shift. Evaluates product quality issues for both the Shipping and Case Department.

3. In concert with Operations managers, set work schedules and assigns work for Case Production Operators. . Ensure all product related to Case production is being manufactured to specific standards. Provides leadership to insure timely production of case bound books for all Case Binding associates. Operates all equipment used in the Case Binding area and evaluates equipment and product quality issues. Tracks supplies and inventory for both the Shipping and Case Department.

4. Maintains a safe and productive work environment for the LSI Shipping and the LSI Case associates by keeping all equipment in good working order and ensuring both areas are kept clean and orderly.

5. Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience:  2-3 Years experience in a supervisory position within a print production environment, or comparable management experience.

 

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Skills:  Must be a self-starter, able to work with little supervision.Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and high customer satisfaction orientation.  Must be computer proficient and able to work flexible hours.Must be able to demonstrate dependable attendance.Attention to detail and accurate typing.  Must be able to work flexible hours.  Must possess an ability to make decisions in relation to staffing and materials, determine if product orders are complete and ready to ship and the correct method.
