Activities will include developing and maintaining a network of high quality contacts to drive development of the publishing program; acquiring books and negotiating author and editor contracts; managing the transmittal process to book production; working effectively with marketing and sales to promote products successfully; and budget management.. Will also support our work towards increased use of electronic media. Involves travel up to 20% of time.Qualifications Bachelor's degree, a science-related degree preferred, and a minimum of 5 years publishing acquisitions experience with proven acquisitions success. Specific knowledge of the market and key book titles in life sciences is strongly preferred. Must have superb communication skills, strong organizational skills, be results driven, and have a customer and market focus.Senior Acquisition Editor / Acquisition Editor position.
