Staff Accountant - Full-time or Job Sharing Possible

FUNCTION:Staff Accountant needed for a growing publisher and distributor of Asian studies educational materials. Perform primarily accounts payable,  accounts receivable, invoicing, and collection functions, along with helping in books purchasing and costing and inventory tracking, royalties and consignment/commission sales calculations, and spreadsheet analysis tasks.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED: Experience with PC–compatible computers, MS Excel, MS Word.. Must have formal accounting training with minimum three years’ experience as full-charge bookkeeper.  Must be be detailed-oriented, accurate and thorough, and possess strong analytical skills to solve discrepancies and catch inconsistencies and errors. Keyboard minimum 65 wpm.  Experience with foreign currencies payables a plus.

 

Must have excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, be able to work well in a team setting and remain calm and pleasant in a fast paced environment.  Will involve customer and vendor contacts by phone, fax, and mail in responding to questions, resolving problems, following up on collections, so must be able to communicate clearly and well in writing and on the phone.
