Systems Administrator - PA

Job Summary: This position provides systems administration support for the configuration, installation and maintenance of LSI systems and technology components for workstations.

 

Essential Job Duties:Systems maintenance and trouble-shooting:Monitor workstation systems to ensure maximum up-time and performance.Perform expert workstation hardware and software troubleshooting.Coordinate support from hardware and software vendors as appropriate.Manage system resources to prevent workflow impact from equipment outages.Day-to-day operations:Maintain detailed knowledge of workstation systems and business processes.Develop and maintain specific operational procedure documentation (as it relates to technology).Provide technical support services, including regular rotations as the On-Call Rep.Coordinate tasks with other members of the IT team and the enterprise.Process improvements:Install and configure workstation software, hardware, network elements and/or peripherals to meet specific customer requirements.Assess customer needs and use in-depth technical and business knowledge, including scripting, to create integrated solutions.Integrate software that enhances or enables the use of high speed printers, scanners or other technology.Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

·         2-4 years as a systems administrator responsible for workstation support.



 

Education:

·         BA/BS Preferred, or experience equivalent.  

 

Skills:

·         Must have experience with a key technology (e.g. UNIX, Windows, Mac, etc.). 

·         Working knowledge of Windows platforms (e.g. NT, 2000, etc).

·         Requires the ability to map (flowchart) systems processes.

·         Must possess customer interface skills including good oral and written communication skills.
