Position Overview:

 

Responsible for developing, maintaining and applying a corporate taxonomy and faceted navigation structure; developing and applying categorization rules and search optimization; and overseeing the quality of a team of taggers. 

 

Responsibilities:

 Create and develop taxonomies, facets and ontologies; along with governance and maintenance strategies.Oversee the quality of all content tagging – in-house and vendor supplied, human and software generated. Develop categorization strategies to implement the taxonomies.Develop strategies and solutions of interactive applications in conjunction with the Project Manager.Create vocabulary guidelines, definitions and other documentation.Research latest taxonomy, categorization and search technologies.Work with Website and Content Managers to implement the taxonomies, including site design, input on labeling, user experience and search experience.Detect gaps in taxonomies and ontologies and push for resolutions with both the internal teams and outside vendors.Drive precise, relevant output, both from the articles’ feeds and databases.

 

 

Requirements:

 Bachelor’s Degree/Masters in Library Science, Lexicography, Computational Linguistics or related fields.Experience with faceted navigation.Embraces a business culture.Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
