Web Data Analyst

Job Title: Web  Data Analyst 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Web Data Analyst is responsible for creating reports, analysis and actionable trend information to help the eCommerce team understand and enhance the customer’s website experience.  They will develop the information and analysis necessary to help the company make informed, data driven web marketing decisions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned).

· Day-to-day management of WebTrends analytics system to ensure tracking, reporting and analytics are functioning optimally.

· Creating and maintaining key reports, dashboards and analysis utilizing WebTrends and SQL.

· Analyzes web site performance, trends and click stream path analysis activity to provide data driven business insights leading to fundamental improvements to the website experience

· Conducts ad-hoc traffic, sales and testing analysis of the site.

· Manages email list creation and segmentation using SQL.

· Develops best practice approaches for analyzing user behavior on the websites.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  None

 

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must have a thorough understanding and experience with web analytics, web metrics, data tagging, site measurement tools (WebTrends experience is preferred) and running reports using SQL.

· Understands the structure of and data issues associated with web logs and log file analysis.

· Exhibits high degree of pro-activeness in analyzing customer behavior using available data to influence changes on the website.

· Understands web best practices and applies this knowledge to their work.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· BS/BA degree in Math or related quantitative field

· MBA preferred.

· 5+ years of working with standard web analytics systems like Omniture, ClickTracks, WebTrends, WebSideStory, etc... WebTrends experience is strongly preferred.

· 4+ years experience with developing and running reports using SQL.
