ACCOUNTING MANAGER

ACCOUNTING MANAGER - Chicago, ILResponsibilities: Finance team leader for Capital Markets business group Key point of contact for business group leaders and Corporate Finance group leaders Produce and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements and variance reports Manage the creation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the business group Help manage and report business group pipeline - including work toward enhancing revenue pipeline/tracking systems Responsible for the timely and accurate recognition of revenue in compliance with contract terms Ensure the accounts receivable objectives and metrics are met Coordinate with Corporate Controller and external auditors on the completion of quarterly audit schedules and reporting Maintain internal control processes and standards and ensure compliance with SOX Responsible for tracking performance of investments/new hires within the business group Responsible for compensation accruals and commission/bonus payment process for business group Some basic Securities/NASD reporting - with ultimate requirement to become Series 27 exam certified Supervise and develop at least one staff member directly and others in the field indirectly Manage and lead within greater Corporate Finance group, potentially participating on or leading group-wide committees and projectsRequirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting (preferred) or finance; possess or pursue a CPA is a plus Minimum of 4 to 6 years experience Strong consulting and analytical skills Strong problem solving skills Attention to detail Self-starter with the ability to excel in a fast paced and customer service oriented environment Ability to handle multiple tasks and directly or indirectly supervise and lead others Excellent communication skills Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word); prior PeopleSoft experience is a plusStart a lasting career with Jones Lang LaSalle today!
