Desktop Support Specialist

NRT MidAtlantic has an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Specialist to be responsible for the administration and configuration of workstations at various Jack Gaughen Realtor offices in the Harrisburg and York, Pennsylvania areas.



The Desktop Support Specialist provides 2nd level problem resolution to NRT Domain users and Metro IT staff with standard desktop configurations.  Documents end user and Metro IT problem resolutions as well as providing desk side and phone support to all Domain users for workstations and printing issues.  Provides QA for all standard workstations images and aids in the development and maintenance of Desktop Support policies and procedures.



DAY-TO-DAY FUNCTIONS INCLUDE: Ability to perform all the functions of the Desktop Support Specialist. Evaluate and test new applications on existing hardware configurations, and recommend upgrades, patches and/or fixes. Fine-tune and monitor rollouts of new products and applications. Identify problems and implement fixes for application problems that may exist in the end user environment. Open, track, and resolve Desktop trouble calls.  Analyze logged calls for trends. Lead evaluations of new "off-the-shelf" desktop software for possible improvements to the end user environment.  Test software for inter-operability with existing client/server software and applications. Reviews generated output and analyze for trends from productivity tools and desktop management tools such as, Intel LANDesk Manager, ePolicy Orchestrator, etc. Perform NT/2000 Administrative functions such as setting up network printers, creating shares, and auditing levels of workstation security permissions. Provide management with technical reports and standard operating procedures.

 QUALIFICATIONS Miniumum of 3 years experience working with workstations & servers in an IP-based network environment.  Strong face-to-face interaction with end users and demonstrated customer service skills. MCSE Certification preferred. Good understanding of IP-based networks and routing concepts. Knowledge of various desktop personal computer and server hardware including but not limited to IBM and Dell. Knowledge of various desktop administration tools such as Intel LANDesk and Network Associates ePolicy Orchestrator. Hands-on experience with hardware configuration issues and excellent troubleshooting skills. Experience working with, configuring, and troubleshooting TCP/IP networks. Experience working with, configuring, and troubleshooting DHCP, WINS, DNS, VPN and RAS from a client perspective.

In depth working knowledge of software including, but not limited to: Windows NT/2000/XP /Vista Outlook versions MS Office versions Symantec Ghost McAfee Anti-Virus Intel LANDesk Network Associates ePolicy Orchestrator Help Desk problem ticket tracking software Exchange client configuration issues Internet Explorer, HTML, internet/intranet client support issues. IP Connectivity and Configuration issues. Various "off the shelf" desktop software packages.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to multi-task Frequently required to sit, stand and stoop and must occasionally lift/and or move up to 50 pounds.
