Job Title: Engineer Trainee

 

Job Summary:

 

The Engineer Trainee must be in enrolled in a program to obtain a journey level license.  Recognized trades include Electrician, Plumber or HVAC technician. Skillful knowledge of hand tools required. Candidate will help perform general equipment maintenance, building HVAC and mechanical maintenance, repair, service call work involving electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems; performs incidental carpentry, masonry, painting and plasterwork. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

-  Executes all work in safe and professional manner

-  Helps perform emergency service and repairs on electrical, mechanical and structural systems and equipment as necessary to satisfy service requests and to maintain the equipment as listed on the building equipment inventory in proper operating condition

-  Helps perform a full range of maintenance tasks including estimating material requirements; placing and connecting electrical operating equipment, mechanical and structural systems and equipment

-  Assists in maintaining and making repairs on utilities systems and equipment

-  Helps inspect and tours the facilities, providing preventive maintenance services in accordance with a well-defined program; institutes corrective action on any deficiencies

-  Completes logs and performs other documentation necessary to the tasks performed

-  Performs minor carpentry, masonry, and metalworking repairs, installation and maintenance activities

-  Responds to requests for service adjustments and other trouble calls

-  Installs or helps install various types of equipment, structures and subassemblies

 

Qualifications:

 

Candidate must execute assigned duties in a safe and professional manner as well as deliver outstanding customer service.  Must have working knowledge of applicable compliance regulations (i.e., OSHA, NEC, etc.).  Must have skillful knowledge of hand tools and safety practices and safely perform mechanical/electrical maintenance and operations.  High school graduate or G.E.D. is required and candidate must be enrolled in trade program to obtain license within 36-48 months from start of program.
