In the early 1800s, ferries were the only way to get to and around Manhattan. As bridges and tunnels were built, ferry transportation faded. But in 1986, Arthur E. Imperatore, Sr. and his family rejuvenated New York Harbor with the launch of the first NY Waterway Ferry. Since then, NY Waterway has carried over 40 million passengers. NY Waterway has the largest ferry and excursion fleet in New York Harbor, but proud to still be a family business providing all the personal attention to service and amenities that it had when it was just "Arthur's Ferry".

 

Facilities Manager

 

We have an immediate opportunity for a Facilities Manager to oversee the daily operations including maintenance and care of all of our Company facilities, which include Ferry Terminals and other marine facilities located in both New York and New Jersey. 

 

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Facilities, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated, successful experience with the following:

 Contractor liaison and management, including bid process and analysis, service negotiation, project monitoring, and inspection, including but not limited to: Preparation of bid specifications to be sent to multiple vendors when various services are needed (Insurance, Construction, Cleaning, Professional services, etc) Analysis of proposals for review (prices versus services provided) Review of all contracts before presentation to company principals in simple, easy to understand format Ongoing review of contractor performance Ensure that all contractors maintain a valid certificate of insurance on file with our office Addressing any company concerns with vendors, products and product liability Lease administration and management, including ability to comprehend lease requirements and manage terms therein, including maintenance schedules, etc.

 

Minimum requirements include, but are not limited to:3 years experience in the day-to-day management of large facilities (100SF+) including scheduled inspections, permit acquisition and knowledge of all mechanical systemsA BA/BS degree from an accredited educational institution in a related field (Engineering, Architecture, etc.) and/or Certification form. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as professional appearance and demeanor Ability to work flexible hours Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, as position requires travel to different facilities in both NJ and NY Proven intermediate or better proficiency level in Microsoft Word, Excel (formulas) and Outlook Use of Building Management Systems (“BMS”) software and programs Ability to be well-organized in a fast-paced environment successfully multi-task; work independently and meet multiple demanding deadlines
