Government Underwriter

We are looking for a Government Underwriter to join Gateway Funding Diversified Mortgage Services, a dynamic and growing corporation based in Horsham, Pennsylvania. Gateway Funding Diversified Mortgage Services, L.P. is a full service mortgage banker offering a diverse product portfolio.

Responsibilities Include:Reviewing, examining and underwriting loans to ensure soundness, business value and compliance with loan program standardsAssessing loan attributes and documentation for soundness and accuracyReviewing, evaluating and synthesizing data to ascertain loan viability and identify risk issues and potential fraudEvaluating debt ratio, loan-to-value ratios, credit score, property valuation and various other factorsDetermining and documenting loan conditions and communicating requirements and/or decisionsAssisting in identifying, recommending and/or negotiating alternative loan requirements, funding and/or loan-structuring solutionsProviding input on new and/or existing Underwriting processes, procedures and/or approachesAssisting others in researching and interpreting complex data to determine meaning and course-of-actionProviding input to and/or participating in the development of Gateway’s Underwriting processes and/or servicesProviding insight, direction and expertise to less experienced team-membersIndependently making decisions and leading projectsBuilding and managing extensive networks of business, Broker and internal relationships

 

A Successful Candidate Will Have:5+ years of Underwriting experienceFull Conventional- and Government-Underwriting designations (FHA DE a must)Expertise in multiple Underwriting specializationsExpert understanding of Underwriting systems and their interdependenciesAdvanced computer-skillsExcellent analytical, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
