These consulting engagements include accounting system design and implementation, budgeting, business and strategic planning, litigation support and forensic accounting, profitability studies and revenue enhancements, training, and recruitment.
A Grossberg Company LLP client based in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist. This client is a full service property management firm that has evolved over the last seventy five years. Originally founded in 1930 by the grandfather of the current stockholders, the company has served clients throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan area. For the past thirty years the firm has specialized in the renovation, management, and development of multi-family and commercial properties. As a Human Resources Generalist you will report to the Vice President and have responsibility over human resource administration, policies and operating procedures, with a heavy emphasis on employee relations. This is a newly established role for this small property management/real estate company; overtime the role may evolve into a full-time opportunity. The day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Employee RelationsDevelop internal employee relations materials regarding policies and procedures, compensation, employee benefits, employee safety, etc Performing initial audits and taking appropriate action to correct any employee relations issues Managing dispute resolution procedures Serving as an advocate to staff on issues related to performance Gathers information on workers' feelings about factors that affect worker morale, motivation, and efficiency and meets with management to discuss possible actions to be taken
Legal ComplianceNegotiating local agreements and compliance with local, state, and federal laws Establishment and maintenance of a stable labor-relations environment Continually enhancing knowledge of state and federal regulations, current trends, and practices pertaining to Human Resources
HR Policies and ProceduresDevelopment, implementation and interpretation of company and/or HR policies and procedures Explain to workers company and governmental rules, regulations and procedures, and need for compliance Ensuring the uniform application of HR policies and procedures
Benefits and CompensationManagement of external vendor relationshipsPartnering with staff members on other aspects of human resources such as benefits, compensation to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Talent ManagementManaging the recruiting efforts to attracting, developing and retaining staff members
Required Skills:MUST have a Bachelor’s Degree MUST have a minimum of five years of experience in human resources, preferably in human resources management and/or labor relations Experience as a human resources generalist and/or experience in functional areas of human resources such as, benefits administration, compensation, employee relations, labor laws, recruiting Independent decision-making and judgment Proven abilities to influence Demonstrated organizational, analytical and planning skills Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and listening skills Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Desired Skills:Masters degree in Human Resource Management SPHR Experience in the property management/real estate industry
