Internal Audit Manager, Americas

Job Summary
The Internal Audit group is part of Lend Lease Corporation. The Global Head of Internal Audit reports to both the Chair of the Risk Management & Audit Committee (RMAC) and the LL Corp. Finance Director. The scope of the Internal Audit function is to provide independent assurance to the RMAC and management on the adequacy of internal controls across all facets of the LL businesses. This role is to be part of the AMERICAS Internal Audit team, conducting and completing audit assignments and working with other global Internal Audit team members. The Internal Auditor will report to the Head of Internal Audit AMERICAS and will bring fresh and innovative new ideas to the audit process.

Responsibilities
Lead & manage:
*Manage own performance of against agreed performance objectives.
*Provide clear guidance, leadership and support to those working alongside and within Internal Audit (either co-sourced or business resources) to develop people management skills, in particular Internal Audit Seniors.
*Attend relevant IIF training and develop awareness of IIF initiatives within the business.
*Comply with professional standards.
*Develop relationships with local finance teams to identify areas within the business that would be suitable for future transition
Relationships:
*Establish and nurture contacts at all levels in the business in order to develop a detailed understanding of the business activities, systems and controls.
*Develop and maintain excellent relationships to work collaboratively with finance and operational teams.
*Develop and maintain excellent relationships with broader audit group to facilitate the sharing of good practice across regions.
*Manage relationships with local risk teams and external auditors by sharing audit assignment scopes to ensure optimal audit coverage and non duplication of work.
Control Environment:
*Perform ad-hoc follow ups as necessary to ensure continued progress and ensure resolutions are appropriate.
*Assist in the development of internal controls in new systems and processes.
Audit Plan:
*Contribute to the development of the annual Global audit plan.
*Help to identify existing assurance activities across the LL group.
Audit assignments:
*Work geared towards adding value to the design and effectiveness of internal controls and identification of business improvement observations.
*Share ideas and audit programs with global Internal Audit team to enable maximum transfer of knowledge.
*Plan individual audits based on an assessment of process risks and controls, design audit programs in line with risk assessment and carry out fieldwork within agreed timeframes.
*Produce quality audit reports in line with agreed reporting timelines and discuss findings with management.
*Participate in ad hoc requests from management as required.
*Develop expertise across 1 aspect of the business to act as a 'champion' within the global internal audit team.

Minimum Requirements
Strong interpersonal skills, sound commercial acumen and a good communicator. * Knowledge of business processes and risks. * Demonstrated team ethic. * Strong integrity and objectivity. * Ability to deal with senior management and present an argument for change and improvement. * Experience of construction, retail and community projects highly desirable. * CPA a plus. * Construction Management Industry preferred.
