Profile Overview

The role of the JDE EnterpriseOne Developer is to provide technical development support for the EnterpriseOne IT/Business implementation. This is a hands-on position -- you will meet with users to develop requirements and will then develop the solution, alone or in a team environment, through implementation. Good written and oral communication skills and a thorough understanding of general business principles is a must. This individual will be responsible for identifying and documenting customer needs, processes, and requirements; developing technical designs and specifications for complex projects; creating, coding, testing, and debugging computer programs; developing test plans; and responding to and analyzing user inquires regarding program problems. 

 

Responsibilities

To be successful in this job, the individual must have broad technological expertise and be able to execute the following:Identifying and defining user business needs, processes, and requirements and prepare functional specifications documents.Developing technical designs and specifications for projects.Creating and coding computer programs based on functional and technical specifications.Developing test plans and verifying the operation of computer programs through testing and debugging code in accordance with the established test plan.Responding to and analyzing user inquiries regarding program problems.Performing related responsibilities as required or assigned.Adheres to department programming standards and methodologyProvides programming support through all testing phases and general releases of the software.

 

 

Skillsets and Knowledge

 

  Primary

1. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.1x programming experience – minimum of five (5) years related experience.

2. Complete understanding and use of: Object Management Workbench, Address Book, Financials (A/P, A/R, F/A, G/L) and Job Cost, and a strong knowledge of the relationships between the database tables in the various modules.

3. Visual Basic 6.0, C and C++ experience.

4. Strong knowledge of software architectures.

5. Knowledge of prototyping tools.

6. Proficiency in database architecture and design.

7. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience with JDE EnterpriseOne.

 

Secondary

1. Strong programming skills in various languages.

2. Ability to use debugging tools to test programs.

3. Good problem solving and decision making skills.

4. Ability to clearly express technical concepts both orally and in writing.

5. Skill in interviewing to determine user requirements and business needs.
