Leasing Consultant (Multi-Family, Rio Grande Valley, TX)

We are currently seeking an experienced LEASING CONSULTANT for a 200+ unit multi-family community in McAllen, Texas.
Position Summary
Performs all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins and lease renewals. Interacts directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy, including generating and handling traffic, leasing apartments, qualifying prospects, preparing lease documentation and completing move-in paperwork and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Shows and leases apartments to prospective tenants
· Interviews prospective tenants and records information to ascertain needs and qualifications
· Accompanies prospects to apartments and discusses size and layout of rooms, available facilities, such as swimming pool and saunas, location of shopping centers, services available, and terms of lease, discusses move-in dates, apartment availability and final lease closing
· Completes lease form or agreement, collects rental deposit, application and redecorating fees on all units
· May inspect condition of premises periodically and arrange for necessary maintenance; prepares and maintains model unit
· May compile listings of available rental property
· May compose newspaper advertisements
· May contact credit bureau to obtain credit report on prospective tenant in addition to rental history and employment verification
· Responds to all inquiries according to TVO shopping standards
· Applies promotional guidelines on a consistent basis
· Adheres to all Fair Housing requirements and all company leasing policies
· Answers and address resident inquiries and issues; provides outstanding customer service
· Must be able to work flexible schedule that may include working special events and/or weekends.
· Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 1-3 years experience in the field or related area
· Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with MRI preferred
· Knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures applicable to field
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
