Manager, Purchasing Analytics

Position Description:

Compile and analyze data from SAP to understand procurement trends and determine the efficiency by which expenditures are made. Identify new opportunities for developing broad vendor agreements that are used by multiple divisions.Facilitate regular meetings with divisional buyers to report on spending patterns and to explain the statistical data and results. Prepare clear and concise spend data reports that provide divisional buyers with consolidated purchasing activity. Provide Company spend, by vendor, to purchasing professionals to enable them to gain better purchasing leverage while negotiating new contracts.Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to Vendor and Material Master creation and maintenance within SAP.Assist in the selection of vendors in the issuance of RFPs.Review Vendor Master List for Patriot Act compliance.Assist in the planning and actively participate in meetings with employees to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies, and to keep employees aware of changes and current standards.Supervise staff responsible for Vendor and Material Master maintenance to ensure accurate processing of the data entries and compliance with policies. Provide Vendor and Material Master System training to new and existing employees including cross training and development.Additional Qualifications:5+ years of experience in purchasing; a minimum of 2 years in managing a team.Experience with report production and analysis.Excellent statistical interpretation and analysis skills.Ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and resolving complex problems.Organized, detail oriented, and thorough, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Ability to supervise a dynamic purchasing organization and staff. Able to motivate and effectively lead staff, and train personnel.Skilled at leading meetings and building consensus amongst people.Real estate experience desired.Quality Improvement/Six Sigma experience a plus.SAP experience (Purchasing & Accounts Payable modules) a plus.

Qualifications:

Eight or more years of relevant work experience. Management experience required. Bachelor's degree, additional experience and/or relevant certifications required.
