JOB SUMMARY: Hanley Wood Market Intelligence (HWMI) is the leading provider of market intelligence and information in the US homebuilder market. HWMI generates over $15 million in revenues annually and is a division of Hanley Wood, LLC, a privately-held company and publisher in the US home builder market that generates over $250 million in annual sales.

HWMI offers a number of information products that are delivered through custom-built client/server software and targeted to large regional and national builders along with financial institutions in the home builder market.

This position will help shape and build a strategic bridge from the current products to a diversified product line ranging from wholesale information services distributed through major industry partners to browser-based reports and applications marketed directly to local and small regional builders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: • Provide on-site, day-to-day guidance to software and systems development teams, based on evolving business needs and market dynamics. • Contribute to overall vision, strategy and roadmap for multiple information services and software products delivered into the US homebuilder market. • Work with field sales organization to aggregate, synthesize and integrate product requirements from customers, including national accounts. • Work with field research organization to enhance company’s ability to collect market information that is accurate, timely and complete. • Work with training and customer support to ensure proper communications to and feedback from customers. • Continually assess strengths and weaknesses of competitive products; based on these assessments recommend and guide implementation of winning strategies and tactics. • Contribute to packaging, pricing and distribution of existing and new products. • Understand and improve flows of data, generated within HWMI and from information suppliers into products.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: • A minimum of 5 years of product management experience, preferably in the delivery of information and/or software products. • Strong written and oral communications skills; successful experience in presentations/briefings to executives (VP and above). • Accustomed to working in a dynamic and dispersed business environment. • Able to and willing to travel domestically to interface with field sales and research teams, as well as headquarters operations based in Washington, DC. • Working knowledge of software development process; familiarity with web-based information services, user-interface design and applications. • Understanding of and experience in residential real estate industry a plus. • College degree required, preferably with technical and/or business concentration; MBA a plus.
