For more information, visit the Company's Web site at www.grubb-ellis.com Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing senior-level engineering oversight and assistance to Grubb & Ellis Management Services (GEMS) managed properties as assigned by the SVP, National Director Engineering & Facility Resources Group. Assists GEMS on-site personnel in carrying out the technical, engineering and maintenance programs required in their day-to-day activities. Recommends and implements initiatives designed to reduce operating cost, improve quality and mitigate risk throughout GEMS international portfolio. Responsibilities:1. Implements the technical programs, policies and procedures established by the Company.2. Conducts limited site assessments in accordance with the guidelines presented in the Quality Assurance Property Review Manual.3. Assists property managers and building chief engineers in meeting their operating objectives and goals and in implementing programs such as energy management, safety and quality assurance.4. Assists in the development of technical training programs for on-site personnel.5. Works with building engineers and operations staff to establish and implement preventative maintenance programs in order to reduce equipment downtime, maintain property integrity, maximize efficiency and minimize costs.6. Documents and publishes standards and best practices for technical, operations, safety and construction issues.7. As directed by the SVP, National Director of Engineering, provides direction and consultation to building operations staff on HVAC, plumbing systems, electrical systems, fire, life safety systems, and OSHA.9. Other responsibilities as assigned. Job Requirements: *B.S. in Engineering required. *Minimum of 10 years prior experience including knowledge of commercial office building operating systems, energy management, preventive maintenance systems and software, work order management and construction management.*Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.*Electrical Engineering degree, knowledge of OSHA and LEED certification all considered plusses.*Travel estimated at 30%.
