Regional Education Director
Respected industry leader is searching for a dynamic individual to lead the education and development strategy for its northeast region, one of five regions throughout the U.S. The position will directly supervise a staff of trainers and report directly to the COO for the region. Position encompasses the needs of a large sales force comprised of independent contractors and local area managers, and includes the delivery of a comprehensive program including leadership, management, sales skills, technology and coaching.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ø Developing, overseeing and communicating the Company’s sales training strategy including standardization/centralization of programs and coordination of delivery/distribution channels across the region;
Ø Partnering with management to determine sales training needs and implementation of training content/curriculum
Ø Participation in the development and delivery of e-learning strategies as well as the curriculum and roll-out of technology/internet based sales tools;
Ø Gaining input from other Regional Education Directors through regular conference calls, annual meetings, etc.; ensuring best practices are shared and implemented;
Ø Identifying sales training and development needs through analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with operations leaders and through classroom observation;
Ø Developing and managing the Company’s sales training budget: assessing the return on investment of sales training and development programs;
Ø Monitoring and reviewing the quality and effectiveness of training programs and trainers through surveys, questionnaires and discussions with managers and salespeople; amending programs as necessary to adapt to the changes that occur in the industry/work environment;
Ø Ensuring that federal regulatory requirements are met across the region;
Ø Helping line managers and trainers to solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups;
Ø Keeping up to date with developments in the industry by reading relevant journals, attending relevant meetings and courses;
Ø Overseeing the development and production of training materials, training collateral and manuals in coordination with the curriculum development.
Ø Overseeing the scheduling process and record maintenance of attendees and instructors;
Ø Supervising the daily work of trainers spread throughout the 12 state region;
Ø Ensuring that the region’s training curriculum is aligned with national sales training strategy;
Ø Ensuring consistent training standards and curriculum are applied across the region, including the sharing of best practices;
Ø Leading and assisting in delivering specialized training/workshops to sales managers and sales associates to help drive production/profitability/recruiting goals and initiatives;
Ø Tracking training efforts against sales associate production goals
Ø Oversight of coaching program yet to be developed
Ø Participating in oversight of management training program currently being delivered
Ø Oversight of leadership workshops and development programs
Required Capabilities
· Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be adept at oral presentations and the use of Powerpoint
· Ability to work with employees at all levels
· Strong computer skills with experience in Learning Management Systems, e-learning and webex training delivery systems, etc.
· Demonstrated success in developing and delivering successful roll-out of technology/internet based tools
· Excellent prioritization and organizational capabilities
· Strong leadership presence
· Demonstrated ability to develop training strategy and lead senior level training professionals
· 3 years related training experience with at experience working at a senior leadership level
· Sales training certification and/or Master’s Degree in related field preferred
· Coaching background and implementation of coaching programs experience necessary
