Regional Manager

Summary

Regional Managers have full responsibility for the contractual, operational and financial performance of managed properties.  Primary duties include development of annual management and marketing/leasing plans, and operating and capital budgets.  They monitor execution of these plans, analyze results and implement corrective action.  Regional Managers are responsible for staffing properties, staff training, oversight and motivation and are the key point of contact with our clients.  Regional Managers travel to their assigned properties regularly and communicate with their staff continuously. Other responsibilities will include but not limited to as assigned. 

 

Operations Management
· Develop the leadership skills of the General Managers at each property, enabling them to prioritize and execute the goals of the facility and provide the necessary guidance and feedback to their staff.
· Motivate, encourage and assist in the professional development of General Managers to advance their career path.
· Perform audits of property locations to ensure compliance regarding policy and procedures as related to internal controls.
· Visit all sites in assigned region on a regular basis to provide support.
· Report the pertinent activities concerning the properties in assigned region to home office and prioritize/coordinate all corporate resources as needed in order for the facilities to achieve goals/objectives.

Financial Management
· Oversee the regional budget development and ensure financial performance of the region meets or exceeds budgeted expectations.
· Ensure all business offices of each property functions according to budget procedures.

Development Management
· Identify new growth opportunities in assigned markets and direct the growth of existing properties.

Requirements

· Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields: business administration, public administration or other suitable field.
· Minimum 5 years experience in a top administrative or management position in the student housing industry.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work well with tenants, employees, and others.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
· Ability to work with mathematical concepts for the purpose of financial budgeting, reporting and analysis.
