STAFF ACCOUNTANT

First Sterling Financial, Inc., a premier Real Estate Investment firm is expanding our Accounting Deparment and seeks a top STAFF ACCOUNTANT to join our team

. 

First Sterling's real estate investment portfolio includes over 600 properties in 41 states nationwide and focuses on providing affordable, low-income housing for seniors and families that delivers tax benefits to our top-tier investment partners.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant will report to the CFO and CONTROLLER and work with the Accounting Department by performing day to day general accounting, financial analysis and investor services functions. The ideal candidate is a college grad with 3-5 years experience with work paper preparation, reconciliation, analysis and adjusting entries. Background in partnership tax helpful. Cash flow analysis and ability to understand contract terms required. CPA and MAS 90 experience helpful but not required. Good communication skills important along with Excel and Word knowledge.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare corporate and partnership schedules and workpapers

Review tax returns and compare to projections

Monitor quality of financial statements with checklist procedure

Gather information for year end audits and tax returns

Maintain actual and projected credit and loss spreadsheets

Prepare fund source and use write-ups and assist in updating actuals

Maintain variance analysis schedules for top investment partners

Work on special projects as assigned
