Branch/Station Manager - Torrance
This exciting position directly contributes to the success of Budget Rent A Car by being accountable for the financial growth and development of one or more local market, corporate locations, you will be responsible for managing daily operations and sales functions to ensure maximization of fleet utilization, profitability and customer satisfaction.This position is responsible for and is based at our Torrance store. Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to: Manage all activities and personnel at one or more local market corporate locations related to servicing customers at the rental counter; cleaning and preparation of returned vehicles for the next rental; ensuring compliance with established quality assurance standards and the maintenance and appearance of the rental facility(s). Manage the financial performance of the location(s), to include transactions, revenue, length of rental, daily dollar average, revenue per unit and fleet size. Ensure all fleet and cash asset control procedures are followed. Gather data on sales, financial and operational performance, local market and competition, and summarize findings as required to ensure management is advised of special issues, problem areas and resolutions. Make recommendations to management in the areas of operational improvements or issue resolution as applicable. Manage business development and promote the brand in the local community through researching for community and business organizations and events, performing inside and outside sales, and building relationships. Consistently provide strong customer service to ensure repeat business and brand loyalty. Ensure all Quality Assurance standards are maintained. Hire, supervise, train, develop, motivate and evaluate the performance of staff. Implement department policies in the area of discipline, discharge, motivation and performance in a consistent and fair manner, referring to the appropriate HR manuals to ensure adherence. Establish, communicate, monitor and update objectives for staff consistent with the company goals and objectives. Utilize effective personnel planning and scheduling to meet customer needs and business requirements. Implement necessary steps to control personnel expenses. Train selected Avis Business Location Operators on all of the essential business duties above.Required Experience Associate / Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent in education, experience or training). Two or more years operations, sales, customer service and/or supervisory experience, preferably in a vehicle rental or related industry. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General business knowledge to successfully operate a local market location(s). Good organizational and analytical skills to track all appropriate operational measures and analyze operational performance results. Strong communication (both written and oral) and strong sales skills. Ability to interact with both internal and external customers at all levels. Ability to manage and motivate staff in a team environment. Creative problem solving skills and strong decision making skills. Self-starter. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
