Manager / Fleet Distribution - Philadelphia, PA

This job contributes to the success of Avis Budget Group, by managing the Fleet Distribution function for Philadelphia International Airport and other locations as assigned.  Responsibilities and essential job functions included by are not limited to:  Analyzing the availability of vehicles at assigned locations to determine which movements must be made; discusses vehicle availability and expected rentals with each location, and recommends changes to reservations as needed. Coordinating the shuttling of vehicles based on calculated priorities and location need. Preparing monthly forecasts to determine fleet trends, movements, and needs.  May partner with Fleet Analysts to incorporate forecasts into area-level reports. Maintaining historical databases and identifies significant indicators to explain variances in state fleet segment levels and asses the impact of contributing trends on future fleet levels. Collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and reporting all pertinent data relative to assigned fleet segments in an overall effort to minimize the size of the fleet while meeting the projected rental activity demands. Monitoring and controlling non-revenue fleet segments to ensure a smooth transition to peak fleet levels and prevent the restriction of rental activity. Developing new policies that support operational and control procedures to promote the efficient completion of work; reviews and evaluates work being accomplished to ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures. Reviewing Emergency Road Service logs and accident reports to adhere to established time frames and policies. Partnering with other managers (Maintenance, Damage, Turnback) to optimize fleet distribution and minimize downtime of fleet vehicles Ensuring proper staffing and the use of overtime hours to maximize the effectiveness of the Fleet Distribution function.  Conducting annual performance appraisals for direct reports, recommending salary increases, providing individual feedback to improve performance, and initiates corrective action in response to personnel problems.  Directing the training of new employees to perform their duties in a manner consistent with company standards.Required Experience High School Degree plus 2-4 years of college preferred (or equivalent in education, experience or training). Minimum of one year of supervisory management experience required; three or more years of supervisory management experience preferred in a service oriented field.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective supervisory, communication, organizational, and creative problem solving skills. Ability to effectively interact with vendors, customers and the public. Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
