Manager / Unit Manager - Providence, RI

Avis Budget Group, a global leader in the travel services industry is searching for a dedicated Unit Manager to oversee our Providence, RI Locations.  This position contributes to the success of our company by managing and improving the operational and revenue performance of assigned local market agency locations.Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:  Training, motivating, coaching and counseling agency operators to ensure customer service standards and quality standards pertaining to product and facility are maintained at expected levels. Visiting and inspecting all assigned locations on a regular basis to ensure that they have enough vehicles and supplies, to obtain information on all rental activity and to discuss and resolve problems. Tracking current performance levels to projected performance levels, creating action plan based on areas of performance deficiency or needed performance improvement.  Managing business development and promotes the Brand in the local community through researching the local market for community and business organizations and events for opportunities, performing inside and outside sales, and building relationships. Building and maintaining business relationships to facilitate organizational profitability. Recommending the opening or closing of agencies based on observations of market potential and competitor activities, and profit or loss of the agency. Qualifications  Associates Degree  Two years operations, sales, customer service and/or supervisory experience.The successful candidate must be willing to and/or possess the following:  General business knowledge to successfully oversee a local market agency location(s).  Good organizational and analytical skills to track all appropriate operational measures and analyze operational performance results.  Strong communication (both written and oral)  and sales skills.  Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences on a wide variety of topics.   Ability to influence others to increase performance levels.   Creative problem solving skills.  Valid driver’s license and good driving record.Avis Budget Group is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer (M/F/D/V)
