APPLICATIONS SUPPORT ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY:Position is responsible for supporting business applications software by providing support, training and application assistance. Incumbent will serve as point person for end user issues escalated from the support desk; responsible for problem recognition, research and resolution steps. Utilize functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Oracle Applications to meet business requirements. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide analytical support for business issue analysis. Utilize functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio) and Oracle Applications (Financials, Human Resources). Recommend alternative solutions, enhancements and modifications to business processes for software utilization and user procedures.Recommend software changes to improve efficiencies and prevent problems. Assist users with implementing changes that will increase the overall effectiveness of processes or applications systems to better meet the needs of the business. Assist users with ad-hoc information and/or reporting needs.Assist with maintenance of the Company?s Intranet as necessary.Provide support for application problem resolution.Work with end users and other Information Services staff to ensure the timely and effective resolutions of Oracle Applications software issues, business processes, and related technical problems. Act as a point person to research, resolve and document problem and problem resolution. Create, maintain, and conduct end user training and procedural documentation for existing, new and enhanced functions.Participate in applications testing through developing, coordinating and implementing user test scripts as necessary. Participate in other projects as directed.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:One to two years experience providing software technical support and/or hands-on application experience required. Some secondary education in related area preferred. An equivalent combination of education and professional experience will also be considered. Experience with Oracle 11i Applications - Financials, Human Resources and Purchasing preferred. Experience with ADI, Oracle Financial Analyzer, SQL and/or Discoverer a plus. Experience with documentation and training a plus.Experience in the use of all MS-Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.Good written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to communicate and work effectively with cross functional groups.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.Must be self-motivated with strong initiative to learn.
