JOB OVERVIEW

Provide leadership and coaching to franchisees and operations team, in order to achieve short and long-term company and operation’s objectives.  Utilize knowledge of restaurant operations and staff resources to provide counsel, advice and assistance to franchisee owners/operators, to positively impact and improve their sales, profits, operating standards and operating systems, while maintaining or exceeding customer expectations. Protect Dairy Queen® trademarks.  Gain and maintain support of DMA chair people and other key franchisee leadership in achieving objectives.  Engage functional experts when needed.  Provide support to other functions when needed.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Effectively implement and execute the Worldwide Operation’s business plan (rolling 1, 2 and 3 year plan).

2. When and where appropriate, establish an effective business plan with franchise owners in your district.  Provide the necessary counsel and assistance to ensure the plans include specific objectives and strategies in support of the business plan.  Monitor progress and goal achievement status.

3. Provide leadership in developing and managing marketing performance through effective partnerships with appropriate departments, vendors and franchisees.

4. Responsible for the company’s efforts to position franchisees for consistent achievement of  food safety, quality, service, cleanliness and repair and maintenance goals as established by ADQ’s operation’s business plan and operating standards.

5. Where appropriate and available, determines financial status of select franchisee and monitors for progress. Provides impactful advice and counsel to position franchisees for optimal financial health.

6. Implement strategies to assist franchisees in executing human resource, training and professional development plans and programs, where appropriate.

7. Partner with appropriate ADQ staff to help position new and existing franchisees to establish and execute effective development, reinvestment and renewal strategies.

8. Responsible for overseeing and monitoring consistent execution and delivery of company strategies to ensure food safety, menu compliance, trademark protection and ADQ standards.

9. Participate and engage in the performance management process in an effort to optimize personal performance.

10. Manages operating budget for district.

11. Complete Ad Hoc projects as required.Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 

KNOWLEDGE

Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations, franchise operations, IDQ policies and procedures, and the marketing, financial, training, human resource and development aspect of the treat and QSR burger industry.  Excellent leadership, communication, organization and management skills needed.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Restaurant Management or a related field or equivalent operations experience; and 3 or more years of increasingly responsible restaurant management (direct P&L responsibility for multi-unit geographically dispersed operations experience) and/or franchise operations management (large fragmented system preferred); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENTIn order to satisfactorily execute and meet the above accountabilities and key measurement criteria, the Field Consultant must frequently travel to meet their peers and franchisees.  Such travel is essential to the position and the frequency will be dictated by the needs of the business.
