Job DescriptionServes as the supporter to the principal Chartwells representative for the account. Supports the direction of the total dining service program of all units and of all operational and management personnel assigned to the units. Assists the Resident District Manager or Senior Director of Dining Services in all phases of planning, budgeting, analysis and reporting relating to the operation. Helps controls account expenditures and obtains maximum utilization of account resources. Reports directly to the Resident District Manager or Senior Director of Dining Services on all operating units. Manage all unit employees, unit student employees and administrative corporation employees assigned to this unit and reporting to this position. Directs and supervises the entire dining service operation and complies with account standards and contract. Recipe to Succeed: Satisfaction/Client Relations. Responsible for acceptable levels of customer satisfaction and public relations, account retention and growth. Financial Results and Accountability. Responsible for attaining unit operating budgets and plans and participates in the formulation of budgets and plans with the College/University and District Manager. Responsible for accurate and prompt completion of all recording and reporting activities. Quality of Dining Service Program. Responsible for maintaining and implementing standards of quality in all areas of the food service operation. Participates in the development of account plan. Growth and Marketing. Assures concurrence with all designated marketing programs including conference and non-conference promotions, retail/resident dining programs, merchandising programs etc. Human Resources. Responsible for the implementation of training and development of all unit employees. Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive program that achieves an acceptable level of sanitation. Participation in the development of his/her performance plan and the plan of those who report to him/her, to include performance appraisals, training and development, action plans and safety programs. Managerial Effectiveness. Responsible for compliance with all company, regional and account policies and programs. Conducts continuing analysis of unit operations and recommends any operational changes to the District Manager. Must ensure that all purchasing for the unit is in compliance with the company purchasing program. Account Management Functions. Responsible for following menu standards. Responsible for all purchasing standards, long term planning, quality control and new innovations. Responsible for all inventory control. Responsible of sanitation program as approved by client. Responsible for effective and ongoing safety programs as well as office administration. Specific Account Requirements. Minimum of five years experience in University Dining Service management.Necessary Ingredients: B.S. Degree in Food Services Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus five (5) years of directly higher reducation related experience a must Minimum of five (5) years of College and University experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training Three (3) to five (5) years of direct foodservice operational management experience in a Higher education, board/reatil setting, with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable ServSafe® certified a plusGreat People.
