EVENT MANAGER

 

 

Reputable catering company seeks Event Manager to become

a part of it’s sales team.

Previous sales experience in banquet, off-premise catering

or event planning is required.

Duties:

* Executes catering menus by consulting with chefs; selecting potential menus; evaluating past popularity of menu options and availability of seasonal food ingredients; anticipating food consumption and estimating cost of ingredients; minimizing waste; placing orders with outside vendors and suppliers; evaluating food and presentation quality.

 

* Assigns serving staff to events by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures; identifying temporary worker requirements; supervising contracted staff.

 

* Schedules outside services by assessing customer needs; arranging for rental equipment delivery, set-up, and return.

 

* Maintains event ambiance by controlling lighting, music, linen service, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement; monitoring food presentation, alcohol consumption and service.

 

* Accomplishes event planning services goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

 

* Meets with clients to discuss details of their event and schedules site visits to determine event's logistics.

 

* Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing ongoing communication with potential and current customers.

 

* Cultivates new business by scheduling meetings and presentations with potential new clients.

 

* Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating and resolving complaints regarding food quality and/or service.

 

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.* Achieves operational objectives by analyzing functional strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing the highest of food quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; determining system improvements; implementing change.

* Analyzes food costs, service staff and outside services to prepare accurate event proposals and assure profitability for the company.
