GENERAL MANAGER FOR DESSERT CAFE

Viva Chocolato! at www.vivachocolato.com is seeking a well-seasoned, experienced General Manager (GM) to spread the love of chocolate at our exciting, upscale chocolate cafe, wine bar and chocolate shoppe at the Domain mall. The GM must have at least 2 years experience in restaurant mangement. Please refrain from applying if you don't have any GM experience. Our chocolate cafe is a place you can enjoy fondue, cake, chocolate and wine pairing, or just sample our delicious chocolates from around the world. The General Manager should be passionate about chocolate, have infectious energy and proven experience in both managing a dessert café and wine bar in the evening and a shoppe during the day, while having a true understanding of extraordinary customer service.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Efficient management of the business as a proven GM

• Ensure prompt and courteous service is given to all customers

• Direct the daily activities of store associates to ensure the store's smooth operation

• Order merchandise and ensure it is set according to merchandising plan-o-grams

• Control and manage inventory to match market demand


• Optimize processes to improve operation's efficiency

• Ensure daily banking activities adhere to cash management policies

• Review profit and loss (P&L) and other financial reports with the President to identify sales and expense control opportunities

• Manage all quick books entries

• Be responsible for top line growth and bottom line profitability of operation

• Recruiting and training store associates in retail operation procedures

• Administering discipline and training to associates as required

• Schedule employee shifts to achieve optimum customer service, merchandise display, store security and expense control

• Maintain store premises and grounds in compliance with agency safety and housekeeping practices

• Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent

• Must have 2 years experience in restaurant management as a GM 

• Successful completion of a drug and background screen

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent, with some college courses

• Over 3 years experience in restaurant management experience as a GM

• One year of supervisory experience in retail or restaurant management

• Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
