Manager, Application Development - Java

The Application Development Manager is responsible for managing the design, development and maintenance of web based technology projects. This includes: Managing staff and contract staff on the development of assigned projects; Managing the development and delivery of web based business intelligence applications on the J2EE platform; Managing the development and delivery of Siebel Analytics applications; Leading the planning, requirements gathering, documentation, development and support of web technology projects; Working closely with business leads from project ideation through delivery and support to achieve shared outcomes; Working closely with other BIS managers to coordinate resources, schedules, and project delivery; Collaborating with Data Warehouse, Business Systems, Technology Infrastructure and Support teams; Working with the database and ETL teams to ensure appropriate designs and end products are delivered via the transformation routines for accessing the data warehouse and the data to meet end user requirements; Leading unit, system and user acceptance testing of web based systems; Training Technical Support staff on delivered applications prior to delivery in order that they can provide front-line user support.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or related field of study), Master’s degree (MIS or MBA) preferred. Must also have at least 8 years of project management experience working with Microsoft Project, eProject/Daptiv, MS Office, Visio, HTML, Java-J2EE, SQL WebSphere. Desired skills include: Oracle, BI tools such as Siebel Analytics, Microsoft NT, Unix, Wireless technologies, statistics/market research/forecasting business systems development. Strong skills needed in the following competencies: leadership, multi-tasking, time management, project management, written and verbal communications, action oriented and team participation.
