Company: Whole Foods Market Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Location: US-CT-Hartford Job Category: Food Services/Hospitality Job Description Performs all duties related to the maintenance and proper food preparation in the Prepared Foods Area. Provides courteous, friendly and efficient customer service. Effectively trains all Team Members and works well as a team. Effectively communicates with Chef, Team Leader, and store leadership. Will Do: 1. Maintain consistency in food quality standards. 2. Provide complete recipes for all products produced in the kitchen. Develop and test new recipes. 3. Assign tasks to the salad prep clerks and follow prep list standards. 4. Proper use of recipes ad procedures. 5. Rotate all products. Label and date all food in kitchen. 6. Use preventative maintenance with all kitchen equipment. Train on potential hazards and general safety. 7. Effectively train all Team Members. 8. Maintain effective communication with Team Leader and Chef. 9. Ensure compliance with all state of California Health codes and maintain high standards of cleanliness in kitchen area. 10. Monitor food loss and maintain spoilage sheets. 11. Communicates all stocking needs for kitchen operation with special attention to freshness dates. 12. Maintain proper inventory through control of purchasing for Prepared Foods 13. Capable of receiving product. Recognition of inferior products and the ability to return with vendor/driver. 14. Effectively maintains full levels in production. 15. Perform other duties, as assigned by Team Leader and Chef and follow through on supervisor requests in a timely manner.   Must Have/Be: 1. 2-3 years culinary experience. 2. Able to perform physical requirements of job. 3. Practices safe and proper knife and kitchen utensil skills. 4. Ability to work box bailer (must 18 years of age or older). 5.
