GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

QFC has a wonderful Seafood Department. We are seeking individuals that would like to start a career with a great company.

Seafood Sales Clerks are responsible for the retail preparation of seafood and merchandising product in a display case as weel as maintaining a clean environment. The Seafood Clerk must have a working knowledge oft he different types of seaffod and be able to give preparation advice to customers. Specila skill include filleting, cleaning and deboningof fish. This position is hourly.Shifts may vary from week to week.Weekend, evening and  holiday work is required.Benefit packages offered to part time assoiates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must meet U.S. legal work status.



Must join local union.



Must comply with all QFC security and company policies



Must be at least 18 years old.





ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Speak and understand English.



Read, write, see, and hear.



Ability to use basic math skills.



Use appropriate and professional customer service skills throughout shift.



Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours in an 8-hour shift.



Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.



Must be able to stand, lift, walk, carry, climb ladders, push, pull, bend, climb stairs, reach, and handle with both hands.



Must have excellent communication skills.



Must have desire and motivation to learn all aspects a Seafood Dept.







 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

Consistently provide G.R.E.A.T. customer service.



Ensure integrity of department signage.



Assist in the coordination and implementation of all corporate merchandising and operational initiatives.



React with urgency to changing sales opportunities.



Communicate current market trends to employees.



Participate in mandatory training programs.



Sell products to customers; teach/demonstrate selling skills.



Take appropriate action on scan audits, on alpha code documents and in-store Price Change Recap.



Maintain awareness of daily/weekly sales and take appropriate action.



Maintain awareness of overstock / under-stocked conditions to ensure ordering system integrity.



Ensure salvage procedures.



Comply with shrink control guidelines.



Ensure the condition of the department; take appropriate action on maintenance / repair needs.



Wash hands properly and often.



Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the seafood department.



Ensure all employees practice safe food handling practices.



Actively participate in all corporate work safety initiatives.



Fillet and steak fish.



Sharpen customer’s knives.



Maintain equipment.



Maintain communication with Seafood Manager, Store Manager and District Merchandiser.
