Sous Chef - Fine Dining

Grand Victoria Casino & Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana is now hiring a Sous Chef for Wellington's Restaurant, a fine dining establisment. 

This Supervisory position is responsible for checking all food production for quality and monitoring all food storage areas (i.e. coolers, walk-in freezer, pantry, and employee dining) for waste and proper rotation of food.  The Sous Chef also:

 

Trains kitchen staff for proper food handling, prep, quality, and sanitation.

Is involved in food prep and creativity.

Assists Executive Chef in scheduling personnel and employee performance reviews.

Assigns breaks for employees. Gives Executive Chef written summary of daily production or problems in the kitchen.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements



The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience in a full service production kitchen including supervisory experience.  Experience in fine dining is preferred.  A high school diploma or equivalent is required, culinary arts is degree preferred.  Must have good organizatonal skill, complete working knowledge of production kitchen, and the ability to effectively communicate with others.
